This week on the blog we are highlighting an article by the fabulous designer Kristen Blazek.  In this article Blazek relives the renovation and design of her 1950’s Pasadena Ranch.  She also defines simple fixes that anyone can follow to get their home on the market and sell for up to 20% more in the process. The tips from the article are sound advise that translate to any market around the country.  Our favorite tip here at RDHD is to use paint to your advantage.  If you need to quickly change a space and also keep the budget low, paint is your answer.  A good neutral color can really change a space to feel more spacious and open, while a warm tone makes rooms feel cozy and intimate.  It is all about the color and tone that you choose.  In the article you can see this in spaces that were kept white for the open spacious airiness compared to warm earth tones in bedrooms rooms to enhance the feeling of warmth.
