This has been one of our favorite projects at reDefine Home Design. Our clients bought a beautiful Raleigh home with great bones, but knew it could use some special touches to make it uniquely theirs. We had three major rooms to prioritize, plus a walk-in closet. We really dove into exploring with color during this project. For all three rooms we decided to go out of the box by choosing a unique color that would give each space its own look. Then we sourced furniture, rugs, lighting and accessories to tie all the spaces together.
Gentlemen's Lounge
For the gentlemen’s lounge we wanted it to feel like you stepped right into a dark moody speakeasy. Somewhere to lounge, sip on your favorite cocktail and play a card game. We jewel-boxed the lounge; painting the entire room including celling and trim in Billards Green by Sherwin Williams. We added wall paper in the niche around the windows and on the bar ceiling to add visual interest and texture. For furniture, we knew we wanted a more masculine vibe so we went with a cognac leather sofa, maple wood and touches of brass. We knew we wouldn’t be changing the bar itself, so it all had to flow together. The clients needed more storage for glassware so we had custom shelving built and added to the blank wall above the bar. It all came together beautifully in the end.

Dining Room
The next room we focused on was the Dining Room. It needed a punch of character to suit the homeowners style. The room also sits directly across from the lounge, so it needed to have an equally dramatic aesthetic while flowing with the lounge space. We took some inspiration from a photo we found online by a local Raleigh blogger Sunny Circle Studio and ran with it. We painted all the wainscoting and trim Favorite Jeans by Sherwin Williams. Then it was time to curate furniture, lighting, and a rug. We tied the dining room and lounge together by using the same maple wood tone from Bassett Furniture, and choosing a rug with green tones. We talked the clients into going a little more glam with their chandelier, and we’re so happy the did!

Family Room
For the family room we wanted a sophisticated southern living aesthetic with equestrian touches. The room also needed to work well with the rest of the spaces in the home. First thing was finding a dramatic color to make the bookshelves stand out as the focal point of the room. We went with one of our favorites, Urbane Bronze by Sherwin Willams. Next was furniture, lighting, artwork and styling to bring the entire space together.

Primary Closet
This room was right off the primary suite but wasn’t being properly utilized. We decided to turn this space into the ultimate girly dream walk-in closet. We had custom shelving and a vanity installed, then sourced some feminine seating, lighting, and accessories.
